San Francisco artist Paulette Long has joined the Web Women Giving Circle. More Magazine recently featured Paulette in an article. She talks about art and philanthropy:
"I've decided to donate 20 of my paintings to raise money for the MORE CARE project in Peru. These paintings were made in sympathy for all the people in the world who are in transition in their lives -- who are in migration to new places from dangerous or unsatisfying lives.
"The paintings are about hope and courage. Through my donation, I want to help the women of Peru to develop their skills and self reliance. I am asking my friends to buy these paintings and to join with our Circle in applauding the courage our our Peruvian sisters."
Paintings below (top to bottom): "3 Swans in Transit," "in transit" 6x6, and "in-transit" 6"x6". Cost of the paintings is $300 each. Contact Paulette Long for more information.

"I was traveling in Peru when I received Joeann’s email about the project. I read through the information and set it aside until my return. Joeann contacted me again and thought I would be a good addition to the group. I can never resist Joeann’s drive and enthusiasm for everything she puts herself into. Having just hiked the Salcantay Trail (40 miles) to visit Macchu Piccu, and seen the need for a program like CARE and the tremendous benefit it can bring to an area – I couldn’t resist to help somehow. I know that my small contribution of time and energy WILL make a global difference – and I may never have that opportunity in my life again!"--Laura Kovacs

"The Giving Circle captured my imagination immediately. Whatever business I've been in, I've always donated a portion of the income to some worthy cause or other. In the 90's, I supported One Percent for Peace (popularized by the Ben and Jerry's Peace Pop). My coaching company, Shaboom Inc., Life could be a dream..., sponsors two children through Childreach/Plan USA.
"Every month, somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 people read my bimonthly ezine and/or visit my web sites. I'm excited about the potential to reach these folks and include them in the giving Circle Project."--Molly Gordon
